“You say shanties, and I say chanteys...” However you spell it, sea songs are made for singing along. The term was derived from the French word “chanter, ” meaning “to sing.” Traditionally, these shipboard working songs helped make life aboard a sailing ship a little more bearable. But trust us, they’re even more fun when you’re not working, and just sitting around a pizza place with a bunch of friends and a non-grog beverage! We meet monthly at Round Table Pizza in Richland, on the corner of Torbett and George Washington Way. No experience necessary, and there’s no charge except for the food and beverages.
