Winemaker Nini Palamà's family hasbeen making small lot wines in the highly underrated southern heel of Italy,Puglia, for almost 75 years. This wine is expansive, rich and robust onthe palate, with an elegance that only comes from small productions and expertcraftsmanship. With aromas of steeped plums, cracked pepper, blackberryconfit and cinnamon; dark and sharp fruit with rare seasoning shaken in; it isa delicious experience. 6.50 glass / 25 bottle / 18 to go

2006Leone de Castris Salice Salentino Riserva

90%Negroamaro, 10% Black Malvasia of Lecce. Leone de Castris has craftedSalice Salentino for over 50 years, and their experience shows. Wine ofan intense red colour with garnet-coloured hints. Fruity sensations ofblackberry and black cherry on the nose, with notes of basil and sweet spicesdue to the refinement in oak barrels. In the mouth it is smooth andbalanced with a strong but never intrusive tannin. Pleasantly earthy witha long lasting finish. I love this wine! 7.50 glass / 29bottle / 19 to go

2005Li Veli Pezzo Morgana Salice Salentino

100%Negroamaro. A full and persistent fragrance with notes of prune &cherry jam and sensations of caramel & pepper that reinforce a veryinteresting nose indicating a strong body. A rich, slightly rusticmouthfeel with a slightly burnt, earthy quality that accentuates deep roastedplum and mocha toned fruit. Wide and warm, flavors of pulpy fruit withstructure and concentration, a long finish with scents of raisins and almonds. 7.95 glass / 32 bottle / 23 to go

If you can'tmake it in on Tuesday, we will have wine specials most other evenings as well -and of course we would love to serve you as our guest any Monday throughSaturday night.

The romantic comedy concerns Gillian Holroy, a young sultry witch who is interested in pursuing a romantic fling (as witches can’t fall in love) with her upstairs neighbor Shep Henderson. Unfortunately, Shep is engaged and barely notices the beautiful witch downstairs. Gillian uses her magic to weave a love spell over the unsuspecting Shep and with the help of her self-concerned warlock brother, Nicky, her flighty aunt, Miss Holroyd, and to the detriment of Mr. Sidney Redlitch (who is writing an expose on NY witches), carries out an elaborate affair. But despite lore, Gillian realizes she HAS fallen in love just about the same time Shep realizes he’s been bewitched—conjuring up potential disaster for the Holroy family and a joyful romantic comedy for audiences! The play is directed by Tom Powers, assistant directed by Mark Humann, produced by DeeAnn Till and assistant produced by Christina Humann.

A program of music, speech and prayer will remember the past with hope for the future. Highlight of the ceremony on the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki will be ringing of the “Bell of Peace” — a gift sent by the mayor of Nagasaki to the people of Richland in 1985. The “Bell of Peace” is a model of a church bell recovered from ruins near ground zero in Nagasaki and rung every day to console the survivors of the atomic bombing. In accordance with the Memorial’s theme of reconciliation, the “Bell of Peace” will be rung in memory of those who died on both sides of the war — the Americans who died at Pearl Harbor as well as the Japanese who died in Nagasaki.

Market at the Parkway - Richland Farmers' Market

The Market at The Parkway (Richland Farmer's Market) opens Friday June 5th at Lee Blvd and The Parkway. Hours are from 9 AM till 1 PM each Friday from now through at least October 16th. Providing entertainment for the opening session from 10:00 AM till Noon are Mary Lou Gnozo and Steve Haberman. Entertainment has been scheduled for all 21 Fridays through-out the season. While most crops are about a week behind because of the cool spring, our recent hot weather is closing that gap fast and the first market session should be very satisfying to market goers. Local cherries are still about a week or 2 away but asparagus, peas, onions, lettuce, etc, etc should be available for sale. Beef, lamb, seafood, and fresh farm eggs will be at the market. Fresh baked breads and deserts will all be available. Plants, flowers, honey and special items such as emu oil, grape seed oil salad dressings, and other specialty items will be for sale. A number of local, talented artisan products will also be featured.

Open Mic & Karoake Fusion

Open Mic at Ty's is a great opportunity for new and seasoned musicians. The environment is very relaxed, most people that attend are there to perform, many for the first time. I have a guitar set up for musicians to use if they don't bring their gear with them. Aside from the all acoustic Open Mic, we also have Karaoke going on at the same time. We basically switch back and forth between live sets, it's great fun for everyone! As a way of supporting budding local musicians in the area, we have a one hour time span where under 21 musicians can join the Open Mic, from 8-9pm. This is a fantastic way for those young performers to get on stage and let the world hear their music!
