In June of 1998, the Tri-Cities Sports Council announced plans for the formation of a Central Washington "Sports Hall of Fame." The Sports Hall of Fame captures the history of this region, by leaving a legacy. Inductees into the Hall come from the Tri-Cities, Yakima, Kittitas and Wenatchee Valleys, Columbia Basin, Blue Mountain and other areas of Central Washington.   The Central Washington Sports Hall of Fame is located at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.   

The Central Washington Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is held every other year.
