He travels the World performing at clubs and festivals with his bands based in: San Francisco Bay Area, New Orleans, Paris - France, and Bamako - Mali. Coming off his successful 2013 release of Mali Blues (Winning multiple top 10 playlists and honors - see TheMaliBlues.com) and with multiple European & US tours in 2013 & 2014, 2015 will see the release of ‘Down by the Bayou,’ produced by, and featuring, Anders Osborne and released on Red Parlor Records. 'Down by The Bayou' showcases the bluesy soulful vocals and lightening harmonica chops of renowned livewire JeConte, backed by a ferocious blues rock band featuring New Orleans legend Anders Osborne, veteran LA rocker Wally Ingram, Bayou Bassman Carl Dufrene, San Francisco slide virtuoso Chris Haugen & long time JeConte writing partner and lead guitar maestro Bay Area's Matty Cohen. Down by the Bayou dips deep into the roots of the Bayou, while simultaneously preserving the NorCal Rock n’ Roll and West African influences of JeConte’s style. Recorded upon his escape from the coup d’etat in Mali at Dockside Studios in Maurice Louisiana, JeConte went directly from the war torn West African country and the The MALI BLUES Sessions, into the heart of the Bayou to carve out a record that inspires deep soulful southern blues, and begs the listener to ask for more.

The evening program welcomes residents to Richland, addresses crime prevention and safety, and features city services and staffed displays to educate, inform and engage citizens. The event features emergency personnel, fire, police, dispatch, the bomb squad, and SWAT Team, along with their vehicles and equipment. Knight Street will be closed to traffic for the safe exit of emergency personnel and big rigs will be in place in the south parking lot of at John Dam Park. Detailed Info >>

Bart Budwig grew up on the Idaho Palouse, with a pawn shop trumpet and a heart as big as a skyscraper - if skyscrapers knew how to be humble. Bart learned melody from classic jazz charts, and learned that fault-lines in big hearts create drifting continents, cut new oceans and forge new mountains. Everyone close to him disappeared, whether to death or Texas, and from Texas he got a letter from Waylon Jennings entreating him to pick up a guitar and a pen. Bart Budwig doesn’t write the big songs. He writes the songs about the places between the hills, in the draws and hidden canyons where truth is a little more in focus, stories can take their time gettin’ told, heartbreak is a place of deep reflection, and melodies don’t have to wear rhinestone suits or drive new, shiny, cars to be beautiful. Bart’s also not afraid of working out of the spotlight- he engineered not only his own full-length Whiskey Girl (2012), but also albums and tours with Radiation City, Holiday Friends, Girlfriends, Misé, John Craigie, Edmund Wayne, and Mama Doll. He also made the rare (for songwriters these days) move of covering both a Waylon tune and a friend's (An American Forrest) tune on Whiskey Girl. His second full-length, The Moon & Other Things, is due out in late 2015. In the meantime he’s busy regularly updating Jalapeno Business, a covers and duets record available for free on Soundcloud, featuring Joseph, Craigie, Forrest, Luke Ydtsie (of Blind Pilot), Janis Carper, and a whole slew of other northwest musicians. Bart will be touring the Northwest from his home of Enterprise, Oregon, when not locked away in the studio producing his friends' records.

“Mercurial voice and eclectic sound” (The Brag) genre defying singer-songwriter Shelley Segal creates a space for her listeners. A space for people to engage with ideas, to question and to reflect on the everyday – to see its layers, its depth, its meaning. Desirous of all expressions, Shelley flirts with elements of jazz, folk, pop, blues, reggae and electronica, imparting a pure joy about music and its power. The spirited singer has been “creating a ripple effect with her melodic vocals, heartfelt passion, thought-provoking lyrics” (Leona Devaz, Weekend Notes) Shelley’s first single, folk protest song ‘Saved’ has become an anthem for grass-roots secular activists.

Production Team Drama Director – Ginny Quinley Choreographer - Marlie Buriak Vocal Director – Marsha Polk RESERVED SEATING Set in the "Fluff and Fold Laundromat," Suds - The Rocking 60s Musical Soap Opera, is the story of laundromat manager Cindy and her event-filled birthday. Cindy's sweet disposition quickly sours on the morning of her birthday when her pen pal boyfriend breaks up with her and her cat dies. Her resulting attempts to take her own life (death by washing machine) are thwarted by the arrival of not one but two guardian angels. Though guardian angels DeeDee and Marge are united in their goal to save Cindy and help her find true love, they are as different as night and day. DeeDee is perpetually sunny and perky, while Marge is sassy and brusque. Their styles clash with humorous results. Throughout the day, other visitors to the laundromat (all played by one male actor) provide twists and turns along the way to the inevitable happy ending to this tale. Using over fifty well known, chart-topping hit songs from the 1960s, such as Where the Boys Are (Connie Francis), "These Boots Are Made For Walkin' (Nancy Sinatra), "Respect" (Aretha Franklin), I Feel Good(James Brown) and "Do You Want to Know a Secret "(The Beatles), Suds can rightfully be called a jukebox musical akin to The Marvelous Wonderettes, capitalizing on nostalgia and the popular tunes from a specific era.

Studies have found that more than 90 percent of people with dementia develop at least one BPSD with a significant percentage of these individuals having serious clinical implications. Depression, hallucinations, delusions, aggression, agitation, wandering and “sundowning” arehallmark behavioral and psychotic symptoms of dementia, commonly manifested in moderate- to severe stages of disease. These symptoms cause considerable caregiver stress, and frustration is often the breaking point prior to institutionalization in long-term care facilities. Many of these (BPSD) are also the impetus to falls, weight loss, infection and incontinence in individuals with dementia.

An Enchanting Evening in Rivendell: An Elvish Masquerade

Location:
Anthology Event Center
Address:
706 Williams Blvd
Richland, WA 99352
Times:
6 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Detailed Info >>

Join us Saturday, August 29, 2015 for "An Enchanting Evening in Rivendell: An Elvish Masquerade."  This event is a charitable masquerade to unite performing artists and enthusiasts from around the Mid Columbia region for an evening of decadent food and lively entertainment.  All proceeds will be used to aid the Arts Center Task Force, a non-profit 501(c)3.  The Task Forces mission is to build a Mid Columbia Performing Arts Center right here in our region.  Your attendance at "An Enchanting Evening in Rivendell: An Elvish Masquerade" will support this project.

Venue Details:  The Anthology Event Center is a unique location featuring both areas with a stage on the north lawn for live entertainment provided by Seattle's Geoffrey Castle intermixed with performances by four performing Arts groups from the Mid-"Columbia region.  After 10 p.m. when the festivities need to move inside, a DJ, AJ Sorbello will provide an atmosphere for fun and dancing.

This is a 21 and over event with a no-host bar featuring beer by Ice Harbor Brewery, Anthology wines, and a specialty cocktail.  Ensure that you have your ID with you at check-in or we won't be able to admit you.

Castle Event Catering has created a menu of fresh and local items inspired by Seven Daily Hobbit Meals to be enjoyed throughout the event.

Attire:  Masks will be required for entry into this event.

This will be a formal event.  Think evening gowns or cocktail dress for the ladies and suits or tuxedos for the men.

Costumes inspired by Tolkien's fictional-universe Middle-earth are encouraged as long as they fit in with the formal concept.  Think about what a Hobbit, Dwarf, Elf, or Wizard might wear to a formal gathering thrown by Elrond at Rivendell.  There will be a costume contest for Best Couple, Best Male Costume, and Best Female Costume so get creative.

Keep in mind this will be an indoor/outdoor party.  The shoes you choose to wear should be compatible with wandering through the north lawn to fully experience all there is to do at the garden masquerade.

There will be a coat check to store any jackets, purses, etc. during the event.
