Detailed Info >>

Trio Subtonic has developed a style of original music that is defined by its compositional intrigue, groove heavy improvisations and its accessibility to listeners across the musical landscape. Choosing not to be boxed into any traditional genres, Trio Subtonic continues its musical exploration with the release of Night Runners which delves into an uncompromising, darker and experimental soundscape that pushes the boundaries of their instrumentation. The listener will find funky, groove-oriented sounds, acoustic ballads, and gospel-tinged instrumentals. Trio Subtonic’s “populist” take on Jazz means that just about everybody digs what they’re doing. Best of all, this record is “designed” well, making for a diverse listening experience from beginning till end. –Matt Fleeger, KMHD

Art can wake us up from the dream we normally live in. Art can shock us into the present moment. When we fully immerse ourselves in a creative project we activate a different part of our brain. We tune out the left brain (the logical, rational side) and allow the right brain (the artist within) to shine through. Join watercolor artist, teacher, and intuitive, Chris Blevins, for an evening of mindfulness through art. Once class begins, we’ll settle into quiet. You’ll be encouraged to pay attention to your respective projects and just let it flow. At first this may seem like work, but after a few minutes of actually paying attention—to the texture of the paper, the feel of the brush in hand, the smells, the sounds---something may shift. The room may fall away and it will be just you and your paintbrush. You may lose track of time and your surroundings. The time may fly by and there may be no thoughts apart from what’s happening in the present…an exercise in mindfulness. No art or painting experience necessary. Really. :-) All art supplies provided. From a recent attendee: "It is a place to be free of the world for awhile. And you get to take home a beautiful creation." Sorry, no refunds are offered. However, feel free to send someone in your place if you aren't able to attend. And if you inform me at least 48 hours prior to the event so there's time to fill your seat, I'm happy to transfer you to a future session. Artwork © Chris Blevins Watercolors. All Rights Reserved.

Kennewick, WA 99336
Times:

Detailed Info >>

The electric utility landscape has experienced tumultuous changes since the turn of the century starting with de-regulation and the West Coast ‘Energy Crisis’, followed by unprecedented rise in operating costs and an aging infrastructure, and culminating in today’s environmental regulation and emergence of grid-smart technologies. The utility of today will no doubt look different than the utility of tomorrow, with uncertainty as the only sure constant. This presentation looks back at the energy crisis, highlights some of the significant changes since that crisis, and identifies factors that will likely change the utility paradigm in the future. What this means to utility customers is unknown other than customers will be provided a menu of choices that heretofore were unfathomable just two decades ago!

Nationally touring singer songwriter Ryan Hutchens releases new music and plays shows under the name of his band, Cancellieri. Ryan is a self managed musician, but works in close partnership with a mixed media management company in Columbia South Carolina called Post Echo (www.post-echo.com). Cancellieri played several hundred shows while touring around the US during 2013 and 2014, and will continue to aggressively tour the US, Canada, and Europe in 2015. As a solo act, Ryan performs for and interacts with crowds with an energy and openness that stems from his musical roots as a street performer, reminiscent of touring songwriters like Langhorne Slim and Brett Dennen. When the band plays together, Ryan's songs can grow into the powerful folk rock experience they were created to be, achieving a sound often compared to artists like Cass McCombs and Band of Horses. Ryan has worked with Post Echo to release three EPs, one full length album, and a collection of live recordings and demo tracks over his first three years as a working artist. Each release has taken Cancellieri in a slightly new direction as Ryan's musical experience and circumstances changed; however, the heart of Cancellieri still remains in creating songs that can be honestly and beautifully expressed in a live performance.

Led by scholar David Fenner, this presentation focuses on Islam and the many aspects that form the substance of a rich culture, traditions, and a way of life. Endeavoring to provide a complete and accurate view of Islam, Fenner creates an open atmosphere and encourages free dialogue specifically to promote greater understanding of Islam, its history and its place in the modern world. The discussion is open and inclusive, and will address topics like, who was Mohammed, and what is the Qur’an, and even delves into the use and history of head scarves. 6th Annual Corvettes on the Columbia - June 5th - 7th, 2015

3 Rivers Corvette Club, along with McCurley Integrity Dealerships, is so proud to present the 6th Annual Corvettes on the Columbia to benefit WA Chapter of Make A Wish. The biggest annual All Corvette Car show in the Northwest.

Our 3 day event begins Friday with the arrival of 200+ Corvettes from all over the Northwest and Canada and the 3rd Annual Corvette Comedy Laughfest. Saturday is the Corvettes on the Columbia All Corvette Show and Shine with awards and dancing, later that evening at our host hotel, the Pasco Red Lion. Sunday ends with a farewell breakfast honoring all participants and supporters for a great weekend.

With last year's success...we have raise, to date, over $164,000.00 for WA Chapter of Make A Wish. That translates to 31+ wishes being granted to some very special children.

With your help and support...2015 looks to be an even bigger year for Corvettes on the Columbia and Make A Wish.

Please join us in celebrating America's one true sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette, and honoring some very brave and incredible children in the Northwest.

On behalf of 3 Rivers Corvette Club and McCurley Integrity Dealerships, we would like to extend a personal invitation to come and enjoy a great weekend of Corvettes, Comedians and Kids!!

Make your plans now to join us in June. Looking forward to seeing good friends and making new ones.

Save the Wave!!
