Fall is one of the most anticipated seasons in the Tri-Cities, but it’s more than everything pumpkin spice and flannel shirts—it’s harvest season! Harvest is the annual celebration of the food and with the Tri-Cities being an American breadbasket, there is plenty celebrate!

Farms throughout the Tri-Cities welcome visitors to explore pumpkin patches, u-pick apple orchards and corn mazes. Many farms offer additional family-friendly activities to make an agricultural experience truly memorable. I mean, have you ever been at the helm of a potato blaster or a pumpkin cannon? The Visit Tri-Cities Calendar of Events allows you explore all there is to offer either by date, or by type of event.

We can’t talk about harvest in the Tri-Cities without paying homage to the world-renown wine grape growing region. Grapes are being harvested to begin their journey from the vine to bottle as the next great Washington vintage. Wineries open their doors during this time to share the amazing process that is affectionately known as “crush”.

The best part of sweater weather is being able to enjoy all the foodie offerings without guilt—almost. Harvest brings exciting dishes from field to plate at local Tri-Cities eateries. Pair a uniquely Tri-Cities entrée to a craft beverage and you have the ingredients for a perfect meal.

And due to the region’s moderate climate, visitors to the Tri-Cities may still enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities including kayaking, cycling of all types, hiking, horseback riding fishing and more well into the fall.
