Community Lecture: "Women Who Step Up, Not Aside"
October 10, 7:00pm
In this one-hour music and lecture presentation, acoustic music trio Trillium-239 shares songs and stories of trail-breaking women and explores what drives them to step out of their expected roles and onto more difficult paths. What can we learn from them?
Come and walk with a variety of women who have chosen unusual roles. They faced many challenges and barriers, but with their voices, hands, pens, and guns, they persisted. We’ll examine the lives and motivation of these fascinating women and celebrate them in song.
Trillium-239 is made up of Michelle Cameron on cello, Janet Humphrey on guitar, and Mary Hartman on guitar and banjo. As part-time musicians with careers in science and technology, they find great inspiration in other women who “step up.”
