Foodie Friday in Tri-Cities

“People who love to eat are always the best people,” famed chef Julia Child once said. And the Tri-Cities has a variety of restaurants, food trucks and eateries for people who love to eat!

Celebrate Food in Tri-Cities

Those with early morning sweet tooths will find themselves at The Spudnut Shop in the historic Uptown Shopping Center of Richland. This iconic diner has been making world famous “spudnuts”, also known as donuts made from potato flour, since 1948. Donut connoisseurs know to wake up early to get the best selection, choose from sprinkles, maple glazed, chocolate, cinnamon apple fritters and more. Right around the corner is another “must eat” stop, Some Bagels + Gelato. For decades this family-owned bagel shop has been serving freshly made bagels. With more than 20 flavors there is a bagel for every palate, and don’t forget the wide variety of house-made cream cheese spreads.

Wake up early and head to The Spudnut Shop

Some say that lunch is the best hour of the day and it’s hard to argue, with so many tasty spots to grab a bite while exploring the Tri-Cities. You can’t go wrong with pizza and beer! Bombing Range Brewery in Richland offers an impressive selection of beers and ciders that can be enjoyed by the pint or flight. Try the wood-fired pizzas, a mac and cheese that rivals your mom’s, or delicious sandwich wrap.

Lu Lu Craft Bar + Kitchen
is a Tri-Cities dining experience with waterfront views of Columbia Point Marina in Richland It’s an upscale atmosphere with a flannel shirt dress code. Lu Lu’s features a true farm-to-table menu sourced from local growers offering farm-raised beef and Columbia Basin produce delicious burgers, creative salads and a creamy pot pie.

In the Tri-Cities region, we celebrate “the taco.” We plan festivals around tacos, we plan competitions around tacos, we even plan foot races around tacos. We love the art of “the taco.” And in Downtown Pasco you can find your perfect taco, from food trucks to brick-and-mortar eateries, tacos are always in reach. Don Rubio’s is the latest purveyor of tacos, offering the “Asada-nator” with its explosive flavor profile.

In the Tri-Cities food trucks enjoy an almost cult following, offering delightfully eclectic menus. You won’t find the standard fare that you see in most “established” restaurants. The word “fusion” is thrown about, meaning combining two or more culinary styles, and anything goes. Asian/Mexican fusion, Indian/Mexican fusion, Mid-Eastern/Cajun, you name it. Menu items to be found include: Fiji Mango Torta, Chicken Curry and Waffles, Asian Fusion Tacos, or Habanero-Teriyaki Sauce. The more creative the better. You can see why food truck dining is exciting. Popular hubs include the Columbia Gardens Urban Wine & Artisan Village in Downtown Kennewick, Peanuts Park in Downtown Pasco and John Dam Plaza in Richland.

Whatever you’re craving, there is a delicious dish in Tri-Cities!
