Live Every Day Like It's Taco Tuesday

The 4th annual Pasco Taco Crawl has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait a whole year to enjoy amazing tacos.

Those delicious tortilla-based creations can be found everywhere from street vendors to taco joints, which makes it easy to see why we’re obsessed with them year-round!

This year, Taco Crawlers ate almost 2,500 tacos in just the first weekend of the Crawl. The entire event ran from April 19 – May 5, 2019. Crawlers were encouraged to make their way through 20 participating restaurants and taco wagons. Proceeds from the ticket sales went to support the Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties – ensuring that people could rest easy they were eating for a great cause!

Our President and CEO, Michael Novakovich, is a taco connoisseur and was very excited to participate in the Crawl and even more thrilled when we earned top honors alongside Numerica Credit Union for the Pasco Taco Crawl Business Brawl Award, sponsored by Conover Insurance. While the actual award was simply bragging rights, we were honored to celebrate with delicious tacos at the 2019 Top Taco winner’s establishment, Trejo’s Mexican Restaurant!

A highlight from Trejo’s was their cheery demeanor, excellent customer service and of course, savory tacos! They’ll ask you whether you want onions and cilantro before they make it, offering custom salsas and sauces to compliment your meal. It’s hard to go wrong with tacos, but when people get it right, there’s no denying it. Trejo’s, who came in 2nd place last year, knows a thing or two about making some pretty darn delicious tacos!

If you happened to miss out on the Taco Crawl this year, or you’re going through taco withdrawals, there’s no reason to stop supporting your local taco establishments. Feed your cravings with tacos from the top 5 voted restaurants in the Taco Crawl:

1 - Trejo’s Mexican Restaurant

2 - Mercy’s Pizza Taco

3 - TacoMex

4 - Donitas Tacos Pasco

5 - Taqueria El Tacoyote + El Antojito Mexican Restaurant (two-way tie for fifth)

This year, approximately 1,150 taco booklets were sold, a 15% increase in attendance over 2018 and people devoured nearly 13,000 tacos. As we enter the 5th year of the Taco Crawl, we can only hope that it continues to grow and offers residents near and far another reason to come explore what makes the Tri-Cities so cool!...and delicious!
