Water + Weather Wednesday in Tri-Cities
The Tri-Cities’ vibrant climate plays host to a vast range of activities that can be enjoyed both on and next to the Columbia River! With an average of 300 days of sunshine, you can enjoy an extended warm weather and sun season in the sun kissed Tri-Cities. Boating, floating, swimming or fishing in relative privacy is the norm as the Columbia’s size and high number of public access points drives down overcrowding.
Alongside of the Columbia River, the 23-mile Sacagawea Heritage Trail stretches through the community so you’re sure to get caught up in some fun between sunrise and sunset. Experience the desert sky as it shows off its amazing colors with views from the trail heads, both on the mountains or from the shorelines. Trails with a higher incline can be found just a few miles from the rivers and offer a few variations of difficulty. Badger Mountain, Candy Mountain and Red Mountain each offer a unique view of the Columbia Plateau, vineyards, farms, neighborhoods, and wide-open spaces.
Looking to enjoy the great outdoors with less steps? The three cities of Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco are bound together by the Columbia, Snake and Yakima Rivers. This oasis serves as a great place to float, boat, paddle and swim. Not far from the Howard Amon shoreline in Richland, Greenies is the leisure rental hub where you can rent a bike, kayak, or paddle board. Northwest Paddleboarding hosts tremendous paddle boarding lessons, yoga, tours, and moonlight paddles.
Whether you are a par, birdie or bogie golfer- one of the 7 golf courses in Tri-Cities is ready to host you and your golf buddies. If driving, pitching, and putting aren’t your strong suit, you’re in luck! The Columbia Park Golf Tri Plex offers regular golf, disc golf, and foot golf plenty to choose from based on skill level and group size. Playing 18 holes can look a little bit different here and we think you’ll like it.
Offering brunch, dinner, and private cruises Water2 Wine cruises are always an enjoyable experience for dining, enjoying cocktails, company, and the views of Kennewick, Richland and Pasco. Cruises depart from Columbia Point on a leisure trip downstream past the Blue Bridge and back up stream to Howard Amon Park.
Surf, sun, and sand(traps) all in the same area, come see what a weekend in the Tri-Cities is all about.
