Embark on a Farmers Market Bounty Adventure. A Cooking Class Experience!
Farmers Market Bounty Cooking Class. A guide to cooking with seasonal items and utilizing them in a multitude of fashions and applications.
We will start with an overview of our local harvesting cycles. Going over when and what produce is available, how to tell if it is ripe, and also how to grade the quality of. Next, we will touch on adjusting techniques to get the most out of product whether it is under or overripe and what are the best use case scenario. Then we will jump into making some wonderfully seasonal items that highlight what nature has brought to our table. Items will be focused on hyper regionality and Eastern Washington culinary flavors and styles.
Rather than planning dishes in advance, day of the class Chef and members of the culinary team will go to the local market to select produce and ingredients at their seasonal best. It’s a lesson in spontaneity, creativity, and deep appreciation for quality ingredients. From what nature has provided three dishes will be decided upon. Attendees will listen to thought processes behind what dishes were decided upon and what we have done to make them unique to our region. Then it will be time to for the hands-on portion where attendees will make the three dishes inspired by nature, created by our culinary team, and brought to fruition by you.
We will hold the cooking class on Red Lion Pasco on Saturday July 19, 2025 from 4pm-7pm. If you would like to join us the day before and learn how to shop for fresh foods at the Richland Farmers Market, meet us on Friday July 18 at 9am at the iconic Tree of Seasons that's centrally located in The Parkway.
