Hanford High School Jazz Program to Host Special Concert Featuring Grammy-Winning Saxophonist Jeff Coffin
Richland, WA — The Hanford High School Jazz Program is proud to present a special jazz concert featuring internationally acclaimed saxophonist Jeff Coffin on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Hanford High School.
Jeff Coffin is a three-time Grammy Award–winning saxophonist, a longtime member of the Dave Matthews Band, and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee(DMB). Known for his dynamic performances and genre-blending style, Coffin has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning jazz, funk, rock, and world music.
The evening will feature the Hanford High School Jazz Ensemble performing alongside Coffin, giving students a rare opportunity to share the stage with a world-class musician while offering the community an exciting night of live jazz.
“This will be our second time having Jeff at Hanford High. The first time (over ten years ago) was such an incredible experience that we knew that we needed to provide this opportunity to our next generation of young musicians.” said Chris Newbury, director of the Hanford High School Jazz Program. “His artistry, professionalism, and commitment to music education make this an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.”
In addition to his work with the Dave Matthews Band, Coffin is widely known for his years with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, as well as collaborations with leading artists across the global music scene. His innovative approach to the saxophone and dedication to mentoring young musicians have made him one of the most respected figures in contemporary music.
The concert is open to the public. Tickets are available online at:
