Get Inked in the Tri‑Cities
There’s an art form where the canvas tells a story long after the artist puts down their tools.
From September 25–27, the Three Rivers Tattoo Convention returns to the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, bringing three days of tattoo artistry, live entertainment, competition and creative culture to the Tri-Cities.
Now in its 16th year, the convention brings tattoo artists from across the country together under one roof, giving visitors a chance to see an impressive range of styles and techniques...and maybe leave with a new piece of art of their own.
Watch the Art Take Shape
One of the best parts of a tattoo convention is getting to see the creative process unfold in real time. Throughout the weekend, artists will be working across the convention floor, transforming ideas and designs into finished pieces.
Thinking about getting tattooed? Many participating artists will be taking appointments during the convention. Some book their schedules in advance, while others reserve availability for walk-ups, so visitors can browse the participating artists ahead of time and connect directly with someone whose work catches their eye. Tattoo pricing and appointments are handled directly by each artist.
And you don’t need to get tattooed to enjoy the experience. The convention is an opportunity to wander the floor, meet artists, explore different tattoo styles and see firsthand just how much creativity and craftsmanship goes into the work.
A Little Friendly Competition
The artistry gets an extra spotlight during the convention’s tattoo competitions.
Throughout the weekend, tattoos take center stage for live judging and awards, including the popular Tattoo of the Day competition. To qualify, Tattoo of the Day entries must be started and completed during convention hours that same day, giving attendees the chance to watch some of the weekend’s standout pieces go from blank canvas to award contender.
Last year’s Tattoo of the Day honors went to artists representing Van’s High Caliber Tattoo, Highmark Tattoo and Bitchcraft Tattoo.
Make a Weekend of It
A trip to the convention is also a chance to experience a little more of the Tri-Cities.
Between sessions, venture beyond the convention floor for local restaurants, craft beverages, shopping and plenty of room to unwind. And with more than 300 days of sunshine each year, the Tri-Cities makes it easy to add some time outdoors along the Columbia River to your weekend plans.
Whether you arrive with your next tattoo already sketched out, find inspiration while walking the show floor or simply want to experience the creativity and culture surrounding the art form, the Three Rivers Tattoo Convention offers a different way to experience the Tri-Cities.
Know Before You Go
The Three Rivers Tattoo Convention takes place September 25–27, 2026, at the Three Rivers Convention Center, 7016 W. Grandridge Blvd. in Kennewick.
Tickets are $15 for single-day admission or $35 for a three-day pass. Children ages 5 and younger receive free admission. Tickets are available online through Ticketmaster or at the Three Rivers Convention Center box office during the event.
Doors open at noon Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tattoos are booked and priced separately with individual artists.
