NSA State Championships Draws 4,500 to Tri-Cities

Tri-Cities, Wash. – Expect a busy weekend in the Tri-Cities region as the National Softball
Association (NSA) Girls Fastpitch State Championship begins Friday, June 29. Coaches,
players and spectators totaling 4,500 visitors from throughout Washington contribute an
estimated $1,336,500 in visitor spending to the local economy this weekend.

“The Tri-Cities has welcomed the NSA State Championships every summer for the last 11
years,” said Michael Novakovich, President and CEO of Visit Tri-Cities. “Their continued return
is a testament to the quality infrastructure and customer service that attract sporting events to
our area. In June alone, the Tri-Cities has hosted 13 different sporting events. These include
basketball, golf, swimming, softball and baseball tournaments totaling 12,224 athletes, fans and
family members at an estimated $3,221,460 in visitor spending in our community.”

Fields in Pasco, Kennewick and Richland will be used by 136 teams with players ranging in age
