Inaugural Grape Stomp Competition at Desert Wind
Get your team together for our Inaugural Grape Stomp Competition at Desert Wind during our Catch the Crush Festival! You’ll be knee deep and barefoot smashing wine grapes between your toes! Winemaking back to its roots — you won’t want to miss this a one-of-a-kind experience!
Three participants are required per team. Each stomp round will take 3 minutes. Team members will act as a relay, as each person will have the opportunity to stomp grapes for 60 seconds, one after another, in the hopes to collect as much free-run juice as possible. The collective juice will be measured against all other teams.
Each team will receive:
• events shirt for each team member
• free-run collection jar for team juice
• 3 Desert Wind Logo Wine Glasses and 15 complimentary Wine Tasting Tokens (5 for each team member) to use throughout the day
A team orientation breakfast will launch the event at 9:30am. Round One will commence at 10:00am with approximately 5-10 minutes between each subsequent team stomp until all registered teams have completed the round. The top three teams go up again head-to-head to compete in the Final Stomp-Off.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three finishing teams. Each team member receives the following prizes.
1st place winners: 1 full case of Desert Wind Wine packaged in our Desert Wind Logo Crate.
2nd place winners: 6 bottles of Desert Wind Wine in Desert Wind Logo Burlap Tote.
3rd place winners: 3 bottles of Desert Wind Wine in our Desert Wind Logo Wooden Box.
Dress Accordingly! This process is messy, and you’ll end up with sticky grape juice all over your legs. We recommend shorts.
Stay hydrated! Be sure to drink water throughout the event—that way you’ll be in tip-top grape stomping shape!
Have fun! Diving into a barrel of grapes and making a mess with your feet isn’t something you get to do every day, so make the most of it! Get messy, stomp as fast as you can and don’t forget to have fun. Even if you don’t win, you’ll always be able to say you competed in a grape stomp and checked something off your bucket list!
