Tim Mulligan, author of the best-selling leadership book “Roar: How To Build a Resilient Organization the World Famous San Diego Zoo Way,” currently serves Vulcan Inc (the late Paul Allen’s organization that includes the Seattle Seahawks and the Portland Trail Blazers) as the Chief Human Resources Officer, and previously spent nearly 13 years as Chief Human Resources Officer for San Diego Zoo Global.

In his role, Mulligan manages a large and dynamic team who fulfill employment needs for the organization, develop benefits packages for its employees and handle organizational and strategic challenges that occur in a large, diverse workplace.

Mulligan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Washington State University in 1990 before receiving his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1994. He has extensive experience in human resources legal issues having practiced labor and employment law from 1995 – 1998.
With an HR career spanning over two decades, Mulligan has amassed much recognition from the HR and business community, including San Diego Business Journal’s “HR Professional of the Year,” San Diego Business Journal’s “San Diego Healthiest Employers” finalist in 2013 and 2014, San Diego Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) “Workplace Excellence” in both 2005 and 2007, and San Diego City Beat’s “2014 Best Place to Work in San Diego.” In 2016, Mulligan won the prestigious award of “Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year” by HRO Today.

This year’s brunch will include a live auction for some great packages, a $25 wine grab, raise-the- paddles, and a fun game of heads-or-tails.
