Celebrate Diversity and Inclusion this National Plan Your Vacation Day
It’s National Plan Your Vacation Day (Jan. 25, 2022), annually celebrated the last Tuesday of January! Visit Tri-Cities joins destination marketing organizations throughout the United States encouraging Americans to plan their vacation days for the entire year. With more than half of remote workers logging more hours than when they were in the office, according to the US Travel Association, taking advantage of paid time off is more important than ever.
While taking vacation time to travel as an outlet to relax and destress is critical to overall wellbeing, travel offers so much more! Travel also inspires empathy, deepens cultural understanding and dismantles stereotypes when being immersed in a destination’s offered experiences.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” -Mark Twain, Innocents Abroad
