Hot Tamales, LLC
Mama Lupe along with her daughter Paulina are the masterminds behind the new tamale-centered mobile food truck called Hot Tamales which hit the streets of the Tri-Cities in April. They are on a mission to change the local food truck game. And they're succeeding one savory tamale at a time.
Yes Hot Tamales only offers one food item the prized tamale but this is no ordinary tamale experience.
At face value you're met with a corn husk la hoja de elote used to steam the tamal to perfection. But much like opening presents on Christmas morning there is something special waiting to be unwrapped. Beneath the husk is a layer of moist masa the perfect vehicle for your choice of pork chicken or rajas (jalape̱o and mozzarella) filling mixed with authentic Mexican sazÌ_n. Compliment any tamale with their salsa roja or salsa verde and you may have a hard time not eating a whole dozen in one sitting or even sharing.
Hot Tamales brings something unique to the Tri-Cities breaking away from the ordinary food truck stereotype driven by tradition. Tamales traditionally are a family affair made in times of celebration due to their labor-intensive preparation. Hundreds of tamales are made at once so everyone can take some home to share with friends and family. This food truck takes that tradition to the next level by personally delivering made-from-scratch tamales to those who cannot make it out to the truck. Customers looking to satisfy their tamal craving can place orders by Wednesday at noon and be greeted with a personal delivery Thursday morning with two dozen (or more) tamales stuffed personally by Mama Lupe herself.
For those looking for the full food truck experience Hot Tamales currently has taken residence at Food Truck Fridays every Friday in downtown Pasco and at the Pasco Farmer's Market on Wednesday's and Saturday's throughout the summer. And if you want to bring an authentic taste of love family and Mexican tradition to your next event or special occasion Hot Tamales has you covered with catering options too. For now Hot Tamales is on a fixed schedule so visit their website or Facebook page to find where their food truck will be next or how to order your next lunch!
