Melissa, is facing the fight of her life. She has been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes. The months ahead will bring chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and a double mastectomy, each with physical and emotional challenges and an uncertain path to recovery.

This diagnosis is devastating, but the financial strain makes it even harder. As an independent tattoo artist, Melissa’s income depends on her ability to work. Tattoos are permanent pieces of art that people carry with them for a lifetime, and Melissa has always believed her clients deserve her very best. As a self-employed artist, she has no paid medical leave or FMLA benefits to fall back on, leaving her without a reliable income while medical bills and everyday living expenses continues to grow.

Melissa is more than a talented artist and brings laughter even in tough times. Despite everything, she continues to face each day with courage and grace.
