Naval Auxiliary Air Facility (NAAF) Vista
NAAF Vista, also known as Vista Field, was among Washington state’s largest U.S. Navy auxiliary training airfields. These supporting sites were essential in preparing aviation cadets for combat during World War II.
Training Naval Aviators
The airfield in Kennewick, Washington, was an auxiliary site to Naval Air Station Pasco. Before the Navy leased Vista Field in early 1942, the municipal airfield served local farmers and flying enthusiasts using the airport code VSK.
