Tri-Cities Rivershore Enhancement Council
The Tri-Cities Rivershore Enhancement Council (TREC) is a multi-jurisdictional program, coordinated by Visit TRI-CITIES, which is helping the community rediscover its river shores and is working to emphasize restoration, development and enhancement activities.
TREC is made up of two committees - the Strategic Committee, which sets the direction for all river shore improvements and activities, and the Technical Committee, which manages the daily operations of the individual projects. The jurisdictions that are represented include:
- City of Kennewick
- City of Pasco
- City of Richland
- Benton County
- Franklin County
- Port of Benton
- Port of Kennewick
- Port of Pasco
- United States Army Corp of Engineers
Most recently TREC has been working to gather data and identify features in the Tri-Cities that contribute to the river shore experience. As a result the Tri-Cities Rivershore Master Plan II, a regionally based plan that is supported by each of the jurisdictions that participate in the council, has been introduced to the community.
