Go Outside and Have Fun

We all anticipate the future and look forward to resuming travel under the Washington State Re-Opening Phases.

Dream. Plan. Pack (Safety first-Pack up your PPE!). We can not wait to see you!

With miles and miles of trails, bike paths and shoreline, you can literally spend days creating your own outdoor adventure. Outdoor recreation and social distancing are a perfect match. We've come up with a few suggestions on how to make the most of your stay.


4:00 p.m. Check-in at your hotel, there are many to choose from nearby the river or trails so that you can get an early start on Saturday!

5:30 p.m. You will want to fuel up for the upcoming few days of adventure. Most restaurants offer curbside cuisine or delivery during this time. This allows you to be creative as to where to enjoy your meal. Picnic in the park along the river at Wade Park, hang out down by the marina at Columbia Point or enjoy the artwork and views on Clover Island. The views and the quality of the food are sure to please.

7:00 p.m. After dinner stretch your legs, take a walk and enjoy one of the Tri-Cities famous sunsets. There are miles of shoreline walking paths winding through all three of the above locations.


7:30 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel or a local diner such as the Sageport Grill. The Sageport is known for their great grub and ample portions.

9:00 a.m. Grab (or rent) a kayak or paddleboard and paddle on the still water of the majestic Columbia River through various coves sloughs. The WYE park in Richland is the perfect launch spot and is located steps away from the Sageport.


If you haven’t played Footgolf, here is your chance. Choose nine or eighteen holes and play a round at the Columbia Park Golf Tri-Plex overlooking the Columbia River. This is a small course, perfect for all levels of play and the river vistas are fantastic.

Noon Stop by 3 Eyed Fish Kitchen + Bar and order lunch to go, from there it is a short drive to the Badger Mountain Trail trailhead. It's a little under two miles to the top and you will be ready for lunch when you get there!

3:00 p.m. Choose a section of the 23-mile Sacagawea Heritage Trail or the 7.1 mile Richland Shoreline Trail and take a stroll. Pompy's Lessons are trail markers with educational messages about the flora and fauna of the region. The markers are located every 1/4 mile, there are 96 markers total, take in as many as you want. *Hint, you can cover more ground if you use a scooter or bike.

6:00 p.m. It won't be long until patio dining resumes, we look forward to being able to hang out on the patio at Cedars at Pier 1, R.f.McDougalls, and Fiction at J. Bookwalter, just to name a few.

8:00 p.m. If you have any energy left, try a moonlight paddleboard adventure.


8:00 a.m. Breakfast – grab some fresh baked goods from a local Bakery (Spudnuts, Ethos, SomeBagels, FreshPicks Smoothies) enjoy your treats at the Playground of Dreams.

9:00 a.m. Hopefully you packed your bikes so that you can get out on the 30 miles of paved riverside trails that run along the Columbia River. But if not, don't worry, Greenies or the Wheelhouse Bike Shop have you covered.
