Your 20s are the perfect time to explore and travel—you may have few commitments, allowing the freedom of untethered adventure. Traveling as a twenty-something is exciting, fun and maybe even your first opportunity to take a getaway sans family.

While your 20s are a great time to have an Eat, Pray, Love style solo trip, it’s an even better time to get away with friends. And the Tri-Cities is the perfect destination for a long weekend with your BFFs.

Explore a welcoming and inclusive community with three rivers, awesome activities, Instagram worthy sunsets and so much more! We’ve even put together an amazing itinerary that guarantees a weekend of memories.

Day 1

12 p.m. Getaways are meant to be leisurely, so plan on arriving in the Tri-Cities just in time for lunch on a patio. Favorite spots with prime outdoor eating space can be found anywhere in the Tri-Cities, but Lu Lu Craft Bar + Kitchen in Richland with Columbia Point Marina views can’t be missed. We suggest a Lu Lu White Salad paired with a local brew or house cocktail for a tasty mid-day nosh.

2 p.m.
The 90s have been making quite the comeback in the past couple of years, from cardigans and crop tops to headbands and chokers. The trend doesn’t stop with fashion, activities that reigned supreme during the Golden Age of Multiculturalism have their place in 2022 and that means laser tag! Head to Bullseye Laser Tag at the Uptown Shopping Center in Richland for a little friendly competition but stay sharp because there can only be one winner.

3 p.m.
Bring your heart rate down with a leisurely stroll throughout the Uptown Shopping Center. Grab a coffee at Kagen Coffee & Crepes (the nitro cold brew is one of the best in town!) and check out the novel shopping scene with shops like Adventures Underground for vinyl; unique knick knacks at Luna Fish; retro games at Sunken Treasures and The Octopus’ Garden for the wild and weird. The Uptown is decorated with colorful murals for great group pics.

4 p.m. Check in at your hotel. The Tri-Cities offers a wide variety of hotels to accommodate any budget or group size. From riverside views to downtown locations, the Tri-Cities can accommodate your group of twenty-somethings!

7 p.m. After relaxing in your hotel room, it’s time to explore the nightlife in Tri-Cities! Dinner and drinks at Proof Kitchen + Bar in Pasco is the perfect place to start the night off. With tasty menu items like the Taco Truck Tots and K-Pop Sliders, you will be fueled for an adventurous evening.

8.30 p.m. The next stop is a short walk...a very short walk. Just on the other side of the Proof dining room is a bank of retro video games. While you can play a few rounds of your favorite arcade games, the real fun is hidden behind faux gaming consoles that lead to the Juice Box Bar—the not-so-secret bar with private karaoke rooms.

10 p.m. The night doesn’t end with the Juice Box Bar though, after you have set the vibe and sang your favorite songs, you’ll be ready to dance. The Jackalope in Kennewick or The Layover at Flight, Tap & Table in Richland are vibrant local hot spots, catering to those who have the dance moves and love a night out on the town without long lines or entry fees.

Day 2

10 a.m. After a late night and sleeping in a bit, make your way to brunch, coffee and get fueled for another day of fun.

12 p.m.
Yesterday’s adventures were on land, but today’s are on the water! Explore the Columbia River and have fun in the sun with paddleboard rentals just a hop, skip and jump away from the Howard Amon Park shoreline.

3 p.m. The Columbia River offers a great potential for recreational activities, but it also is the reason why the Tri-Cities can incorporate amazing farm-fresh ingredients in our culinary offerings. A late afternoon spent at Middleton Farms for one of their iconic harvest festivals will ensure that you have great memories, snacks, and photos. With mazes, potato launchers, inspired dishes based on the harvest, paired beer and wine, and “you pick” harvesting is always a great time whether it's strawberries or pumpkins! The added bonus of going to the harvest festivals is having all of the fresh ingredients to take home and enjoy as is or added to your home-cooked meals!

5:30 p.m.
After experiencing the agriculture in the Tri-Cities, see where the region's local flavors are being served. Richland is home to Dovetail Joint Restaurant in the Uptown Shopping Center, rotating fresh and unique dishes that are catered to the seasons.

7:30 p.m.
A weekend in the Tri-Cities is all fun and games...seriously! Enjoy craft cocktails and beer at PowerUp Arcade, an arcade bar with video games and eclectic pinball machines for you and your friends to enjoy.

9 p.m.
After dinner and cocktails, you can check out the local dives in the Uptown in Richland, Lee’s Tahitian has Karaoke every night and killer drink specials! For more music, dancing and drink specials, the Dugout in Richland, the Out & About in Pasco, or the Branding Iron in Kennewick.

Day 3

11 a.m. We wish vacations could last forever, but it's time to pack your bags and check out of your hotel. Stop by Novel Coffee & Teas for a little caffeine and a snack before heading home. Maybe scroll and plan your next visit at VisitTri-Cities.com!
